Private Group Safaris

Move as one. Travel on your own terms.

When the Whole Team Needs the Wild

Some journeys are not holidays. They are missions: a leadership team that needs to think differently, a research group with fieldwork to do, an organisation rewarding its best people, a community marking a milestone together. These journeys need more than a nice lodge. They need space, structure and a place where a group can focus, bond and be changed by what it sees.

Munzat Safaris builds private group journeys across Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda for organisations and large parties with a purpose. Your vehicles, your guides, your camps and your agenda, with no outside guests and no fixed departures. We handle the logistics of moving many people through remote country, so your group can concentrate on why it came.

Why Choose a Private Group Safari?

Picture the first morning. Your group gathers at dawn beside the vehicles, and every seat is yours. There is no stranger to wait for and no timetable set by someone else. If the briefing runs long over coffee, the day simply begins later. If the guides spot lions an hour away, you leave early. The schedule bends to the group, not the other way round.

By midday, the safari has become part of your agenda. A leadership team might hold a session under an acacia tree, and a research group might gather its first field notes. A delegation might sit down with the rangers who protect the land it has come to support. Because the camp is yours alone, with its tents, dining table and fireside all reserved for your party, conversations stay private and nothing is interrupted.

Behind it all, one Munzat coordinator works quietly in the background, holding every thread: flights, permits, transfers, dietary needs and the inevitable last-minute change. Your organiser is free to be a participant instead of a travel agent. Experienced guides lead each vehicle, and our team is reachable around the clock, so a large party moves safely through remote country without fuss.

By the final evening, something has shifted. Colleagues who arrived as departments leave as a team, and supporters who arrived curious leave committed. The group has shared something no meeting room could give it. A private safari costs less per head than people expect, since vehicles, guides and whole camps are shared across the party. What the group takes home is worth far more than the line in the budget.

Groups We Travel With

Every group arrives with a different reason for travelling. These are the ones we plan for most often, each travelling privately, on its own programme.

Corporate Teams and Incentive Groups

Leadership retreats, sales incentives, client hosting and team-building. We pair the safari with meeting spaces, facilitated sessions, team challenges and evenings around the fire, in settings that reset how a team thinks and works together.

NGOs, Foundations and Conservation Organisations

Donor trips, board visits and field programmes. We arrange access to conservancies, rhino sanctuaries, anti-poaching units and community projects, so your supporters see the impact of their work first-hand.

Universities, Schools and Research Groups

Study tours, field courses and research expeditions. We work with specialist guides and naturalists to build programmes around ecology, wildlife, geography or culture, with safe, well-supervised logistics throughout.

Professional Associations and Conference Groups

Pre- and post-conference journeys, delegate programmes and networking retreats. We handle numbers, arrivals and departures across multiple dates, with itineraries that keep a diverse group together and engaged.

Faith-Based and Community Groups

Pilgrimages, fellowship trips, service journeys and community celebrations. We shape the programme around your values and rhythm, with space for reflection, worship or service alongside the wildlife.

Photographers, Filmmakers and Media Crews

Workshops, documentary shoots and press trips. Specialist vehicles, early starts, flexible schedules and guides who understand light, behaviour and access, so your team gets the shots that matter.

Clubs, Alumni and Large Private Parties

Reunions, society tours and invitation-only gatherings. Your members, your itinerary, and none of the compromises of a public group departure.

Where to Take Your Group

Kenya: Masai Mara, Amboseli and Laikipia. Strong infrastructure, short domestic flights and private conservancies where entire camps can be reserved for your group. Excellent for retreats, incentive trips and conservation-focused programmes.

Tanzania: Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Immense landscapes and year-round wildlife, including the Great Migration. Ideal for groups that want scale, variety and a mix of lodges and tented camps.

Rwanda: Volcanoes National Park. Compact, safe and superbly organised. Gorilla trekking is run in groups of up to eight visitors per gorilla family, so larger groups are divided across several families, subject to permit availability.

Uganda: Bwindi, Kibale and Queen Elizabeth. Gorillas, chimpanzees and classic safari in one journey, well suited to adventurous groups who want depth and variety.
